Storage — silos

Powder silos
with engineered discharge.

Bulk storage that feeds the line reliably — mass-flow cones, level instrumentation and top-mounted filtration, fabricated in stainless.

TLG stainless silo with conical discharge, installed inside a plant

In brief

TLG designs and fabricates stainless steel powder silos for food, dairy and beverage plants — from day-bins to bulk storage. Each silo is engineered for mass-flow discharge from the powder's measured flow properties, with level instrumentation, top filtration for dust-free filling, and moisture control where the product demands it.

In detail

How it works.

The qualified terms matter: this page is about industrial powder silos in stainless — not farm grain bins. Food-plant silos carry hygienic finishes, dust-controlled filling via convey line, and discharge engineered against bridging.

Pneumatic filling, fluidised or mechanical discharge, load-cell inventory, CIP spray balls — specified per product, drawn and fabricated at the Auckland works.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between a silo and a hopper?
Scale and role. A silo is primary bulk storage — hours to weeks of material. A hopper is short-term process holding — the buffer above a feeder, weigher or packing head, minutes to hours deep. Both live or die by the same discharge engineering.
