Food — confectionery

Confectionery
powder handling.

Sugar in its many forms — crystal, caster, icing — plus cocoa, milk powders and glucose solids, batched to recipes that tolerate no drift.

Assorted confectionery dusted with icing sugar

In brief

Confectionery handling moves sugars, cocoa and dairy powders through batching at recipe accuracy. Icing sugar and cocoa are fine, cohesive and combustible — demanding engineered discharge, contained transfer and dust-zone compliance. TLG builds confectionery ingredient systems from intake to the cooker or mixer feed.

The powder problem

Process requirements.

Fine sugars bridge and pack; cocoa smears and clings. Both demand flow-engineered hoppers and gentle, contained conveying — and both are serious combustible dusts, with icing sugar among the more energetic food powders. Confectionery lines earn their zoning drawings.

The process — stage by stage

The confectionery line, stage by stage.

Every stage below is equipment TLG designs and builds — follow any of them into the solutions range.

  1. 01

    Raw material intake

Sacks and bulk bags enter the line contained — dust captured at the tip point, foreign objects screened out.

  2. 02

    Conveying

Transfer matched to the powder — pneumatic phase chosen for friability, mechanical for short controlled runs.

  3. 03

Raw material & finished goods storage

Silos with discharge engineered to the powder's measured flow properties — storage that empties reliably.

  4. 04

    Automated batching

Every ingredient weighed to recipe on isolated load cells, majors to minors, with the batch record generated automatically.

  5. 05

    Foreign material removal

Magnets hold ferrous wear metal; check-sieves reject oversize — placed where HACCP analysis puts them.

  6. 06

    Dust extraction

Capture at every transfer point, ducted to reverse-jet filtration — hygiene, compliance and recovered product.

  7. 07

    Automation & controls

One control system sequencing the whole line — recipes, interlocks and records included.
